Big Steps

BIG STEPS is a teacher and student-driven framework reshaping how progress is recognised in education. Developed within the Creative Technologies Department at Mater Dei College, it introduces a shared language where every step counts – from big steps to small, even mistakes. Valuing process over product, it encourages experimentation, iteration, and courageous first steps. A key feature is the BIG STEPS Wall – a growing, interactive display of stories, photos, drawings, and reflections from both staff and students, making growth visible and real. More than a program, BIG STEPS is a scalable, adaptable mindset fostering co-ownership, engagement, and lifelong learning.
