At Mary’s Mount Primary School, we created a whole school community project to regenerate an area of land within our school grounds, known as our Harmony Garden. As a school community, we have a strong focus on remaining sustainable and responsive to the changing educational landscape, so we decided to take action, to “heal country” and to contribute towards the Laudato Si goals. Integrating and honouring indigenous cultures and perspectives whilst engaging all our students, their families and the broader community were all significant in the creation of our collaborative and equitable Harmony Garden. Through celebrating, and sharing our continuing stories from our Harmony Garden, our goal is to be an example of stewardship as we “Care for our Common Home”.
