The Nyikina language is Derby's home indigenous language which is becoming a dying language. This year we have implemented the language into the school and teach Years PP-6. The benefit of having this language is to follow through on Pope Francis' speech about making our environment sustainable for future generations but also to support our Indigenous students to show them they should be proud and have recognition of their language.
