Our Orana (meaning welcome) Noongar Seasons sign is a culmination and commitment to an ongoing delivery of education in Noongar culture that is closely linked with the promotion of caring for our common home – the Earth. Each year level created the plant artwork for the sign, being unveiled in NAIDOC Week celebrations. Through Science lessons, year levels learned about species related to each season to become custodians of one species that has been planted in the school grounds. As each cohort of students grow older, they will hand over their flora to the younger students behind them. This development is our ‘Noongar Seasons Walk’ in our school grounds - the knowledge of our Noongar culture is nurtured through caring for our common home.
