In early 2020 the College Principal met with the Vice Principal and College Counsellor to discuss introducing a time of stillness each week for staff to help manage stress levels. From this meeting grew the Prendiville Pause. This is a process that is undertaken by staff each Friday morning before the teaching day begins when we gather in the staffroom. It is also a process which staff can use throughout the day when stress arises. The aim is for staff to be able to pause from what they are doing, acknowledge how they feel, understand that what they are feeling is their bodies natural reaction to what is happening internally or externally, take some slow deep breaths to help self-regulate and examine what God is asking of them at this time.
