The prologue to the story of Mercy College was embedded in the foundation of the Sisters of Mercy by Venerable Catherine McAuley in Ireland in 1827. The story begins with the arrival of the founding Sisters to the Swan River Colony in 1846 led by Sr Ursula Frayne and the subsequent establishment of the Sisters in Australia. In 1972 Mercy College was opened as an outreach of St Brigid’s West Perth to afford education to girls in developing northern suburbs. 2022 is our 50th Jubilee year and the story continues to be written. We are the Stewards of that story.
