Year 6 St Peter’s students were posed with the inquiry question “What makes a strong institution?”. Through investigating this topic, a St Vincent de Paul guest speaker inspired the students to explore ways they could support local homeless communities. Following St Peter’s TRUE Inquiry model, students brainstormed ways they could help those in need. In design technologies, students had been exploring the impact of fast fashion on our environment. They then designed re-usable bags, using recycled clothing. The sustainable bags were then filled with non-perishable items that were donated to Vinnies WA’s Homeless Appeal.
