A vision of a plan to involve more fathers in their children’s schooling life came to fruition at Whitford Catholic Primary School through the Fathering Project program. The program aimed to promote the important role of fathers, and father figures, to the entire school community through the formation of a “Champion” Dads’ group, which later became known as the “WHITTY dads”.
Formed in 2018, the group was set up to inspire and equip the fathers and father figures at Whitford Catholic Primary School to positively engage with the children in their lives.
Significant events include the dad and kid’s campout, fishing lessons, Kindy Olympics and a billy cart challenge.
The project continues to run strong due to the efforts of our fathers to continue to work in providing some wonderful school memories for their children.
