The St Gerard’s Internship Program bridges the gap between university coursework and the practical demands of school environments through a year-long, immersive experience for final-year Notre Dame students. Interns gain hands-on classroom practice, mentorship, and training in evidence-based programs, gradually building confidence and teaching capacity. The program supports diverse learners, strengthens student outcomes, and deepens intern connections with students, staff, and families. It fosters the Gospel Values, leadership, and service while benefiting the whole school community. The program nurtures capable, Christ-centred educators, several of whom now teach in Catholic schools—demonstrating its lasting impact and alignment with CEWA’s Vision for Learning.
