Cogs, Coops, and Creation: A Laudato Si’ Approach to Learning

Francis Jordan Catholic School CURRAMBINE

FJCS is leading the way in actively embedding Laudato Si’ into everyday school life. With the introduction of chickens, students are actively engaging in caring for the Earth; grounding environmental sustainability into daily life. Dedicated staff are trail-blazing important learning pedagogy through loose parts play and a dedicated tinkering space, both fostering creative problem-solving and collaboration skills. These initiatives embody authentic Catholic beliefs, and utilise cost-effective, open-ended materials that maximise accessibility and creativeness. Backed by future-focused governance, this project showcases how ethical, faith-filled leadership creates an enriching, vibrant, and innovative community, inspiring the next generation and those to come.
