Mazenod Hydrogen Car Challenge

Mazenod College LESMURDIE

The Hydrogen Car Challenge is a cross-curricular project undertaken in collaboration between Science and Design & Technology. The focus is authentic skills development where students build, modify and drive hydrogen fuel cell remote controlled cars in competition.
It had competitive success at the WA State Finals, culminating in qualification for the 2025 H2GP World Finals in Germany. This was not the sole objective; rather, it was to cultivate deep learning, curiosity and excellence through marrying classroom theory with real-world application. The challenge now has the 2025 participants mentoring the next intake of 2026 competitors.
