Christ the King School BEACONSFIELD
The Living Classroom transforms an approximately 150 m² under-utilised area of the school into an inclusive, outdoor learning environment where every student learns by caring for creation. Designed as an all-abilities bush tucker, sensory and wildlife habitat, it embodies the principles of Laudato Si’ through ecological education, accessibility and stewardship. Working with the site’s existing trees, soils and materials, the Living Classroom demonstrates that every feature has purpose. Featuring over 257 plants across 35 species, accessible pathways, a yarning circle a diverse wildlife habitat and a communal fire pit, it will inspire generations of students to learn, belong and care.
