Early Years Charter at Orana

The Early Years Charter was developed to create a clear, contemporary guide for Early Childhood Education that is Christ-centred, child-focused, and accessible to families. Moving beyond a traditional philosophy statement, staff collaboratively identified five key stepping stones: Environment, Engagement, Relationships, Play, and Faith, supported by belief statements and practical examples. Developed over several years, the Charter combined the expertise of experienced educators with the fresh perspectives of new staff. The Charter has strengthened collaboration, provided a shared framework for teaching, increased parent understanding of early learning, and enhanced student outcomes through engaging, play-based, relationship-focused learning experiences that nurture wellbeing and belonging.
