From Little Things Big Things Grow: St Michael’s Music

In 2024, St Michael’s School planted a seed: to develop the St Michael’s Music Program. Across the past two-and-a-half years, choir numbers grew from 28 to 47, while instrumental enrolments increased from 16 to 84. Like wildflowers, music spread beyond the classroom, with the school choir bringing joy to residents at Aegis Aged Care, the Bassendean Senior Citizens Group, St Joseph’s Parish and at school events. Its influence inspired the formation of two parent bands, strengthening connections across generations. Music has woven the school community together, creating a culture where every voice is valued and every note deepens a sense of belonging.
