This year, the Catholic Institute of Western Australia and Whitford Catholic Primary School facilitated faith formation sessions to promote Catholic Identity, examining Aboriginal spirituality through Bishop Salvado in a program called Salvado’s Way. The school explored Dom Salvado’s work with Aboriginal people, his commitment to social justice, and contributions on Rottnest Island. A trip to Rottnest Island highlighted its Indigenous and Catholic heritage. Dr John Topliss noted the venue's significance due to Salvado’s respect for Aboriginal culture. Studying the Holy Trinity Catholic Church's connection to Salvado enriched the school’s knowledge of Catholic history and inspired their commitment to social justice.
