A strengths based approach to improve student engagement, in an EC setting.

This strengths-based data driven planning approach can be used with children who exhibit unsafe, destructive and highly escalated behaviours, and consistent disengagement.
It’s not fancy and it’s messy! But it works, it’s easy to use and has been highly effective.
This approach was created from the need to maintain safety in the classroom and it centres around the strengths and dignity of the child, as well as quality relationships.
It is hoped that this project will make a difference to the wellbeing of the rapidly growing number of students with complex needs in the classroom, and their educators.
