Catholic Identity in Action: The Academic in Residence Experience

Through its Academic in Residence initiative, John XXIII College welcomed Jesuit priest, human rights lawyer and academic Fr Frank Brennan SJ AO to campus, embodying Christ-centred leadership and Catholic identity in action. He engaged students, staff and community through workshops, dialogue and liturgical life, modelling faith-informed critical thinking grounded in the Gospel. During his residency he completed ‘Pope Francis: The Disruptive Pilgrim’s Guide’, featuring reflection questions by Deputy Principal Faith and Mission, Janeen Murphy, to support Catholic educators. With a public launch and student collaboration on Ignatian media, the initiative inspired the community to live faith with justice, compassion and hope.
