Creative Concern: Visual Arts in Action at St Patrick’s Katanning

Over the past three years, St Patrick’s School has transformed its approach to the Arts through a vibrant and engaging Visual Arts program led by a passionate teacher. Once an afterthought, Visual Arts is now a cherished part of school life and a favourite subject for many students. All year levels explore diverse artists, cultural traditions and techniques. A standout initiative is the collaborative Year 6 mural created for the 2026 centenary, symbolising faith, history and community. Art now fosters pride, belonging and joy, with exhibitions and public displays uniting students through creativity and shared purpose.
