Design Thinking Model in Action

Mercy College’s primary students' participation in Design and Digital Technologies projects proved highly beneficial. By designing vehicles to maximise speed using a CO2 cartridge and creating chariots using recyclable materials, then programming them to move with the assistance of a ‘Sphero’ robot, students gained hands-on experience and honed essential 21st-century skills. The integration of the 'Design Thinking Model' facilitated innovation, problem-solving and creativity. The collaborative effort between the Primary and the Secondary teacher was instrumental in shaping the College's Vision for Learning. These projects inspired students to explore, experiment, and embrace a growth mindset, preparing them for the future.
