Culture, Canvas, Cloth – Connecting our Community

La Salle College’s ‘Culture, Canvas, Cloth – Connecting our Community’ is an inspiring, collaborative project between staff, students and community. Inspired by student-voice the project fosters a strong sense of unity, cultural appreciation and inclusion, by connecting the school’s community with First Nations culture. The artwork expresses how La Salle College, Middle Swan connects with Whadjuk Noongar elder’s past, present and future, showing the connection between the Derbarl Yerrigan River (rainbow serpent) and the College’s Yarning Circle. The staff shirt inspires cultural appreciation and deeper understanding of cultural stories from Middle Swan igniting a sense of belonging in the Lasallian community.
