FIRST STEPS AT ST DENIS

The St Denis Teacher-Led Playgroup provides a welcoming and inclusive space where children and families build connections before formal schooling begins. More than 50 families from the local community have participated, including parents, grandparents and extended family members. Facilitated by teaching staff, the playgroup supports positive transitions to school by familiarising families with staff, routines and the learning environment. Through play, conversation and shared experiences, participants develop meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging. Aligned with NQS Quality Area 6: Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities, the initiative has strengthened community ties and contributed to Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten enrolment applications.
