Good Shepherd Catholic School LOCKRIDGE
Good Shepherd Catholic School’s sustainability initiative reflects the QCE pillar of Community by promoting shared responsibility among students, staff, and families. Through classroom compost machines, students reduce waste by turning food scraps into mulch, which is then used in garden beds to grow produce for cooking groups. This hands-on project fosters collaboration, environmental care, and meaningful learning experiences. To share the message, students created a video highlighting the project, which was shared on the school’s social media. This initiative unites the community in caring for creation and living out their Catholic values through sustainable, practical action for the common good.
