Growing Our Own: Nurturing Future Catholic Educators.

Growing Our Own: Nurturing Future Catholic Educators is a collaborative initiative between St Munchin’s Catholic School and local Catholic colleges including neighbouring Lumen Christi, and is aimed at developing future Catholic educators from the local community. The program has supported eight former Year 12 graduates transition from secondary school into employment as Education Assistants while undertaking teacher training. Through mentoring, classroom experience, and professional support, participants have built their skills and commitment to Catholic education. The initiative is already achieving outstanding outcomes, with two participants graduating as qualified teachers in 2025 / 26 and beginning their teaching careers within Catholic education.
