Growing Something Beautiful: Stewardship at St Helena’s

St Helena’s Catholic Primary School ELLENBROOK

St Helena’s Catholic Primary School has developed and implemented whole-school Sustainability Guidelines that embed the school’s value of Care for the Earth into daily life. Inspired by Laudato Si’, the guidelines shape decisions across classrooms, events, and community activities—encouraging avoiding waste, implementing low-waste practices, recycling and composting. Affordability is promoted through second-hand initiatives which reduce the school’s environmental footprint. The guidelines have strengthened ecological awareness, fostered inclusive participation, and inspired the school community to adopt ecologically friendly practices. St Helena’s lives its motto, “Something Beautiful for God,” by making stewardship a visible and practical part of Catholic education.
