Growing Wadandi Cultural Custodians

Guided by Noongar Wadandi custodian Josh Whiteland, this transformative project forges a genuine partnership with the Indigenous community, preserving heritage while promoting belonging. The initiative spreads awareness, appreciation, and respect for Indigenous culture within the school and beyond, through a scope and sequence of custodian led incursions and excursions, and events like NAIDOC and Reconciliation Weeks. Collaborations with nearby schools and Indigenous groups enhance community impact, fostering unity and cultural exchange. Rooted in ongoing communication and reflective practices, the project integrates Noongar Wadandi culture into the school's fabric, cementing a deep commitment to Indigenous well-being across the community.
