At Mercy College the Year Six students are leaders amongst the primary and part of the Leadership Ministry team. Students have spent one term learning and helping implement sustainable practices at school. The students have a thirst to learn about being global citizens who look after the planet. Discussing ways in which the College could reduce water consumption and still grow fresh produce, they researched different ways of gardening, choosing water wicking garden beds as a sustainable resource. The students designed and built garden beds, showing that they can reduce water usage and become more sustainable in the local environment.
