Highway Hero Award

St Munchin’s recognises students living the values of their social emotional wellbeing program, Highway Heroes, through their ‘Highway Hero Award. It isn’t always the most academic child who receives this award, but children who are compassionate, kind, manage emotions effectively, and are helpful. Each term, teachers nominate two students they identify as being a true ‘Highway Hero’. The award is presented at an assembly, with parents invited. Students receive a certificate, have their photo prominently displayed and attend a special morning tea in the staff room to celebrate. It has become a great honour in the school to receive this award.
