Holy Rosary Playgroup

Holy Rosary School, in Derby, partnered with Ngunga Women’s Aboriginal Corporation to deliver a culturally responsive playgroup that fosters inclusion and community connection. The initiative aimed to create a welcoming space for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal families, strengthening early learning foundations and trust in the school environment. Activities included culturally embedded play, language sharing, and family engagement, supported by First Nations staff and school resources. Families gained a stronger sense of belonging, and children transitioned into school more confidently. The impact was assessed through attendance data, family feedback, and increased enrolments.
