Jumpstart to Success: Transforming Student Engagement and Career Readiness

Jumpstart at Nagle Catholic College offers Year 10 students a unique opportunity to explore their career objectives through practical skills, workplace learning and personal development. Introduced in 2020 with 10 students completing Jumpstart Trades, the program has grown into three streams (Trades, Work Skills, Careers & Life) and currently involves 94 students, 43% of the cohort. Students gain industry experience by completing one day a week in real workplaces, which enables them to develop employability skills and maturity. By linking this experience with classroom learning Jumpstart empowers students to builds capabilities, confidence and clarity towards future career and educational pathways.
