Kolab

KOLAB is a Year 9 inter-school collaboration between Mater Dei College and Emmanuel Catholic College that reimagines project-based learning through authentic partnership. Rather than completing separate classroom tasks, students work as one design team to create two full-size cardboard superhero characters, communicating through weekly Microsoft Teams meetings before exchanging projects midway through construction. Students inherit another school’s work, adapt to new ideas and share responsibility for one final outcome. Inspired by CEWA’s Vision for Learning, KOLAB develops collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking while demonstrating that meaningful learning can occur when schools choose partnership over competition.
