Mother Mary – Mixed Media Art Project

This Mixed Media art task required students to relate individually to their experience of Mary depending on their own personal context. The students learnt a lot about Mary through the process, not just about Mary the Mother of Jesus, but also about the way she was portrayed in different cultures and across time. The highlights of this project were two-fold – students gained a deeper understanding of Mary both historically and culturally, and they were able to respond to their personal experience of her freely in a visual way.
