My Learning

St Mary’s College, Broome is committed to raising the achievements and standards of learning through data informed instruction and a commitment to being inclusive, supportive, and affirming diversity. This year, ‘My Learning’ was introduced to cater for those children who arrive at school with the support of the St Mary’s College engagement buses and/or whose attendance is intermittent, resulting in gaps within their learning. Seventy-two children participate in the initiative using data from whole school literacy and numeracy screenings for explicit teaching, targeted at the point of need for each individual child. Once arriving at school, children are offered breakfast and complete activities to assist with their learning and a positive transition into classroom experiences for the day.
