St Michael’s School has embraced the call of Laudato Si’ to care for their common home by reflecting on how meaningful change can be created—not just within the school, but throughout the wider Bassendean community. The school is reducing its carbon footprint one step at a time. Initiatives include the introduction of bike education, increased use of public transport, and collaboration with organisations such as the Valuing Children Initiative and the Town of Bassendean to make streets safer for children. As a result, St Michael’s is the highest-rated Catholic and single stream school on the Your Move Leaderboard.
