The Yarning Circle was an opportunity for us to plant the seeds of hope, on Whadjuk country, creating a welcoming and inclusive outdoor space for all members of the College and local community to enjoy. We wanted to create a sacred place that embodied Aboriginal spirituality, our Sacred Heart College heritage and the charism of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions, who founded our College on this site in Sorrento over 65 years ago. This is a place where students and staff can find peace and hear God’s voice in the sound of the wind through the Yarning Circle trees.
