Parents Connect (Parents of students with a disability)

In a spirit of inclusion and support, St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School launched ‘Parents Connect’—an initiative for parents of children with disabilities to come together in community. Through informal gatherings, guest speakers, sharing sessions, and social events, the program created a safe space for exchanging experiences, resources, and encouragement. A parent-led WhatsApp group provided ongoing connection beyond the school gates. By fostering empathy, understanding, and collaboration, ‘Parents Connect’ reduced isolation, built friendships, and empowered parents with confidence to advocate for their children—strengthening family wellbeing and enriching the school’s pastoral care culture.
