Professional Connectivity and Resource Efficiency: Advancing English Teaching through a Single-Stream Partnership

Our Lady of Fatima School PALMYRA

Our Lady of Fatima School and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Hilton (two single stream schools), joined forces to strengthen English instruction through collaborative professional development and resource sharing. In response to student data, they adopted the evidence-based Ochre program, initially for Years Three to Six and later expanding to Pre-Primary to Year Two. Pooling resources, they funded the purchase of rich children’s literature central to Ochre’s approach. This partnership promotes sustainable, high-impact teaching aligned with the Science of Reading and the Western Australian curriculum, enhancing teacher capacity through shared expertise and a unified English model.
