Sacred Heart Primary are proud to nominate their yarning circle as a way to learn and engage with one another, build respect, and share knowledge. It engenders the building of robust, trusting, and caring relationships between people/s. It is an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to come together to talk (‘yarn’) about Indigenous protocols, message and message sticks. It is a space to collectively share ideas, concerns, passions, stories, and knowledge. The yarning circle ensures that people approach being mindful and caring towards each other during the yarn. It is acknowledgement and respect for the first Australians.
