SPX Sustainability ‘Swap’ Events – Laudato Si in Action!

St Pius X Catholic School is committed to promoting sustainable practices and fulfilling the late Pope Francis’ call to care for our common home. In a bid to combat consumerism and the dire impact it has on our environment, the Sustainability Committee, and student leaders, came up with the idea to host a ‘Fashion Swap’. Families donated pre-loved clothing and then swapped them for ‘new’ items of clothing. The success of this initiative led to a ‘Toy Swap’ and ‘Costume Swap’. The leftover items were passed to St Norbert College, who donate them to First Nations communities (Kimberley Immersion Program).
