The Fr[ai]ne Academy is a K-12 professional learning initiative underpinned by Vygotsky’s Zone of Proximal Development and the Ignatian Jesuit teaching model. It empowers teachers to use generative AI as a scaffold for learning rather than a shortcut, enabling students to co-construct knowledge, reflect critically, and build metacognitive skills. Rooted in the “Process, not Product” philosophy, the program challenges cognitive offloading and fosters ethical, reflective, and creative engagement. Guided by the AI Assessment Scale and supported by structured tools like the AI Interaction Sheet, the initiative aligns with CEWA’s Vision for Learning, ensuring that AI supports, not replaces, human learning journey.
