Holy Rosary School DOUBLEVIEW
Inspired by Sisilia’s story from Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, Holy Rosary’s Year 6 student leaders created a Big Water Walk to help students experience the reality of water poverty. Meeting weekly, students researched Project Compassion case studies and shaped an event where every year level, from Kindy to Year 6, carried buckets of water while walking laps scaled to their age. Year 6 walked the distance Sisilia walks one way each day to collect water, extending beyond school grounds to Jackadder Lake. Students led every stage, from planning to fundraising to counting money, raising $5,522 for communities facing poverty.
