Water Immersion Program

Mercy College is a diverse educational context that is enriched with many cultures, therefore, there is a need to educate students about water-safe practices. With a focus on embracing inclusivity and student-centred experiences, the Water Immersion Program has been developed for Pre-Primary and Year One students. Water activities within this program are play-based and are designed to enable students to learn fundamental water skills, with time designated to exploring the water. Supported by staff and families, the program encourages an increase in student readiness in learning to swim, enabling them to feel safe and comfortable in a water-based environment.
